A new Family Hub is set to open in Stoke-on-Trent to provide local families with support, advice and activities.

The Abbey Hulton Family Hub will open on 21 November with a launch event from 10am to 12pm featuring family-friendly activities, refreshments and a chance to meet the team and explore the new space.

There will also be youth engagement sessions running from 4pm to 6pm, giving children and young people the chance to share their thoughts and help shape services at the hub.

Alongside the new hub, the nearby Wallace Centre also has provision for children and young people, with users of the new family hub being able to use their new community garden and play area – funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

In addition, they also put on Youth Takeover activities every Friday in partnership with 10 Count Boxing's youth club and Stoke City Community FC Foundation.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has said that the latest addition to their growing network of Family Hubs reflects the city's commitment to building healthier, safer and better-connected communities.

Cllr Sarah Jane Colclough, cabinet member for children's services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "Abbey Hulton Family Hub will be a fantastic addition to our city's support network.

"It's about creating a network of places where families feel welcome, connected and supported.

"This hub will make a real difference for local families and be a real asset to the local community."

The four main Family Hubs are currently open in Bentilee, Normacot, Chell Heath and Shelton with satellite sites in Tunstall and Blurton.

Stoke Services are also currently running from Hanley Market and Stoke Library.
