New facilities to help young people develop their life skills are on the cards for a youth charity's city centre base.

Plans for a two-storey extension to YMCA North Staffordshire have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

The youth campus at Harding Road, Hanley, already provides accommodation for young people, as well as day and evening activities and training and education opportunities.

YMCA are seeking permission to build an extension on their Hanley youth centre base (LDR).

The proposed extension is set to provide space for new youth facilities, including art, life skills and a multimedia area, as well as office and training space.

If the application is approved an existing single storey structure will be demolished to make way for the two storey side and rear extension.
