New charity shop to open in Stoke-on-Trent this week
A new charity shop is set to open in Stoke-on-Trent this week.
Mind previously had a shop on The Strand, Longton, but it closed last month as the landlord is selling the building.
The new shop, located in Longton Exchange Shopping Centre, will open on Friday 23 February.
Kate Boundy, CEO from North Staffs Mind, and Jack Brereton MP will be cutting the ribbon at 9.30am and welcoming locals to the shop.
Kevin Willows, Regional Manager at Mind, said: "We are so excited to be re-opening our Mind shop in Longton this Friday 23 February, with Kate Boundy, CEO of North Staffs Mind, and Jack Brereton, local MP, cutting the ribbon.
"The new shop at 30-32 Bennett Precinct will be a temporary unit until we find a permanent home in the same area – which we hope to provide an update on soon.
"At the moment we urgently need donations, so please do think of our Longton shop if you are doing a spring clean. We're also looking for passionate volunteers to lend a hand, so if you are considering getting involved, please do pop into the shop and speak with the team.
"We want to say a huge thank you to all staff, volunteers, donors, and customers who have stuck by us during this time of change and helped us to get to this point. Thanks to this community, we can continue to be there for even more people who need us."
