A Keele-based children's charity has been confirmed as the official charity partner for the Staffordshire FA TopCashback Ability Counts League.

Caudwell Children has announced that it is now the charity partner of the Ability Counts League - a PAN disability football league.

Supported by Staffordshire-based business, TopCashback, the league offers young players with a broad spectrum of physical, learning, and sensory impairments to play competitive football in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Through the partnership, families involved in the league will be signposted to Caudwell Children's services, which provide practical and emotional support for disabled and neurodivergent children.

Tom Sherratt, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Caudwell Children, said: "We're really proud of this partnership, which embodies our shared commitment to empowering children of all abilities, encouraging inclusivity, and celebrating the unique talents of every young player.

"Together, we're creating opportunities for disabled and neurodivergent children to reach their full potential - on and off the pitch."

The charity hopes the collaboration will create a clear pathway for young aspiring footballers with disabilities to access flexible and inclusive playing opportunities across Staffordshire.

The partnership will also see the Caudwell Children team deliver neurodiversity training to Staffordshire FA staff, coaches and parents.

The charity hopes this training will help build understanding and confidence in supporting neurodivergent young people within grassroots football.

Both organisations are also exploring opportunities to work with commercial partners to enhance the support available to families, including welcome kit bags for teams and dedicated family support sessions.
