New cafe and bakery opens in Stoke-on-Trent city centre

A new independent family-run bakery and cafe has opened in Stoke-on-Trent.
Elora Sovarschi opened Leafy Delights on Cheapside in Hanley on Sunday after leaving her job in recruitment to pursue the venture alongside her boyfriend, Alex.
The cafe serves cakes and pastries made fresh daily on site as well as coffee, which is also available to take away or dine in.
Elora lived in Italy for nine years, studying at culinary school and learning pastry techniques, before moving to Stoke-on-Trent nearly a decade ago.
Elora said: "We will be changing what we have every day so we can see what people like the most.

"Yesterday, for example, we had mango and lemon cheesecake and today, we have Kinder Bueno cheesecake.
"It's been crazy because we have been busy since we opened but it has been a nice feeling."

In recent years, she has been selling her creations from home while working but after a recent holiday to Romania, Elora decided she wanted to invest in her passion.
Alex and Elora then decided to take the leap and take out a lease on a city centre unit to open the permanent space for her bakery.
Elora added: "It is nice to see people enjoyed what they had here and we have had good feedback on Google reviews and also on our Facebook page."
"We want to be as fresh as possible so we are aiming for quality over quantity."
