Stoke-on-Trent murder suspect now detained under Mental Health Act

A man previously arrested on suspicion of murder after a 38-year-old man died in Stoke-on-Trent has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
Staffordshire Police arrested a 46-year-old man on Monday after a man died at a property on Lymebrook Place in Trent Vale and now he has been detained under the Act after being assessed by medical professionals.
Investigators are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death and a number of officers remain in the area.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A man who was arrested following the death of a man in Trent Vale has been detained under the Mental Health Act after being assessed by medical professionals.
"We were called at 4.05pm on Monday (10 March) to reports of a disturbance at a house on Lymebrook Place, Trent Vale.
"Sadly, a 38-year-old man, was pronounced dead a short time later. His death is being treated as suspicious.
"A 46-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been detained under the Mental Health Act after being assessed by medical professionals.
"At this time, we are not looking for anyone else in connection to the investigation.
"A number of our officers remain in the area to reassure the community."
