Moorcroft expects production to restart 'soon'

The historic Stoke-on-Trent pottery firm Moorcroft is expected to return to production 'soon' after being bought by the grandson of the company's founder.
The firm is said to be "working tirelessly" to restart production at the Sandbach Road site after Moorcroft ceased trading in April.
The BBC reported on Saturday that Will Moorcroft, whose grandfather William Moorcroft built the factory on Sandbach Road in Cobridge in 1913, had bought the firm but he was unable to guarantee all 57 workers would be able to return to work.
High energy prices, imports from abroad and the ongoing cost of living crisis had been attributed to the reasons behind the firm entering into liquidation in April.
A statement from Will Moorcroft reads: "We are delighted to announce that Moorcroft pottery will soon resume production and we are excited about a new future that will continue our legacy from right here in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent.
"After a difficult time which resulted in the firm falling into liquidation, we have secured all of the assets that will give us the ability to continue manufacturing our wonderful ceramics once more under the guidance of the Moorcroft family.
"We are working tirelessly behind the scenes to restart production, and hope to re-launch both the website and our shop soon, so please bear with us, but thank you for your continued support and loyalty through this difficult yet exciting time."
