Meir Tunnel set to close for three nights for ‘maintenance work’

The A50 in Stoke-on-Trent is set to close overnight for three nights next month whilst maintenance work is carried out. 

National Highways will enforce a carriageway closure from 5 to 8 March between 8pm and 6am. 

The A50 will be closed from the start of the 40mph speed limit to the end of Meir Tunnel and one lane will be closed in both directions overnight on 6 March. 

Meir Tunnel will close for three nights whilst National Highways carry out maintenance work (Google).

A spokesperson for National Highways said: "The A50 will be closed in both directions between Meir and Catchems Corner for tunnel maintenance for three nights starting on Tuesday, 5 March. 

"The closures will be in place from 8pm to 6am each night and diversions will be clearly signed."
