A man armed with a metal bar who launched a vicious attack on a woman after sexually assaulting her in Stoke-on-Trent has been jailed.
Sebastian Prus, 50, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, was sentenced to three-years-and-three-months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday (10 October) after he admitted wounding with intent and sexual assault on a female at an earlier hearing.
It happened in June last year inside his flat.
Prus made unwanted sexual advances on the survivor who tried to push him away. He touched her chest over her clothing and became verbally abusive when the survivor resisted his advances.
He then attacked her. He slapped her, punched her and hit her lots of times with a metal bar.
Following a 999 call, Prus was quickly arrested and brought in for questioning. He was charged with the offences and taken to court, where he admitted his guilt.
Detective Constable Jacob Thackstone, from Staffordshire Police's child protection team, said: "This was a particularly violent attack on the survivor who will no doubt be living with the psychological effects of what Prus did to her.
"I'm pleased that we were able to build all of the evidence needed to secure his conviction and subsequent custodial sentence."
