Man jailed for supplying cocaine and cannabis in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been jailed for drug offences after admitting being involved in the supply of drugs following a stop-and-search in 2022 in Stoke-on-Trent.
Bradley Birchall, aged 23, of Fenton, was handed a two-and-a-half-year custodial sentence at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday (24 April) after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs and possession of criminal property.
Birchall was stopped in a car on George Street in Fenton on 9 March 2022 where officers found a quantity of cash. He was arrested and later searched, with officers discovering five wraps of white powder, later revealed to be cocaine, in Birchall's underwear.
He was then released under investigation then searched again in November 2022. Officers then carried out a search of his home address and found a large amount of cannabis in a carrier bag in the garage along with some digital scales and cash.
Birchall initially denied the offences but later changed his plea and admitted them in court.
PC David Beardmore, the officer in charge of the case, said: "Birchall first claimed he was innocent of drug supply offences.
"I'm glad he went on to admit his guilt in court and that the judge saw fit to hand him a custodial sentence for his offending.
"We continue to do all we can to disrupt the supply of illegal substances in our communities and are determined to bring offenders before the courts."
