Man taken to hospital after 'throwing furniture around' outside Stoke-on-Trent pub

Police and paramedics were on a Stoke-on-Trent pub car park this morning.

A police van and two police cars were seen by eyewitnesses outside the Weathervane pub off Lysander Road in Meir Park this morning (3 July).

Staffordshire Police says officers were called out at 9:35am following reports of a man "throwing furniture around" outside the pub.

Paramedics were also on the scene and the man has since been taken to the Royal Stoke.

A statement from Staffordshire Police said: "We were called to reports of a man throwing furniture around outside the Weathervane pub, Lysander Road, Meir Park, at 9.35am this morning.

"Officers attended and the man has been taken to hospital."

West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "On arrival crews found a man who they assessed before conveying him to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further care."
