Man in his 50s dies following flat fire in Meir

A man has sadly died following a flat fire in Stoke-on-Trent on Friday 12 January.

Police and fire crews were called to Beveridge Close, Meir, just before 8pm and the fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet around 30 minutes later.

Sadly, a man in his 50s, was found dead inside. 

The cause of the fire is being investigated, but is not being treated as deliberate.
