The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow in Stoke-on-Trent this week (Nub News).

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Stoke-on-Trent as temperatures plummet this week. 

A yellow warning for ice was in place between 5am and 11am this morning (15 January) as snow fell on areas of the city, including Hanley. 

Another yellow warning for snow is in place for Wednesday and Thursday this week (17 and 18 January) and the Met Office warns "some roads and railways affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services".

According to the Met Office, "there is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, might be affected. 

"There is a slight chance of snow-covered roads leading to stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel".
