A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 73-year-old woman in Stoke-on-Trent.

Peter Matthews, aged 79, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with the murder of Carol Matthews, age 73.

This comes after police were called to an address on Denton Grove at around 8.40am on Friday 22 March.

Peter Matthews, 79, is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Nub News).

Sadly, Carol was found dead inside the house.
