Man named after 220 cannabis plants found at Stoke-on-Trent property

A man has been charged after cannabis was found to be growing at a property in Burslem.

Bernaldo Bitroshi, 25, of no fixed address, has been charged with producing a controlled class B drug and due at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today.

A police cordon had been set up yesterday around a former amusements venue on Market Place in Burslem with police vehicles also seen on Brickhouse Street.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "A man has been charged after we found a cannabis grow in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.

"Bernaldo Bitroshi, 25, of no fixed address, has been charged with producing a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.

"It comes after officers from the City Proactive Team searched an address on Monday (17 February) and found an estimated 220 cannabis plants inside.

"Bitroshi is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 18 February)."
