Man arrested following deliberate fire in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested following a deliberate fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police and fire crews were called just after 3.30am on Sunday (28 July) to reports of a car on fire which had spread to a nearby building on Rosebery Street, near Tunstall.

Fortunately, nobody was injured.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A 39-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Fortunately, nobody was injured in the blaze (Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service).

"He has since been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.

"Anyone with information that can help with our investigation is encouraged to get in touch. We're also keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time.
