Man arrested after car 'with blue lights and a siren' stopped in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested after police stopped a car 'with blue lights and a siren' in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called just before 10.30pm on 27 July and 1.10am on 28 July to reports of a black car with blue lights and a siren in the Tunstall area.

Just after 1.30am, officers located and stopped a black BMW on Broomhill Street.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police constable, driving whilst unfit through drink, using a vehicle on the road without third part insurance and being a disqualified person obtaining and driving licence.

A 40-year-old man was arrested and released on police bail while enquiries continue (Staffordshire Police).

He has been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We're keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time.
