Man arrested after car collides with derelict pub in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested after a car collided with a derelict pub in Stoke-on-Trent early this morning.

Police were called to Shelton New Road just before 12.30am following reports of a blue BMW colliding with a derelict pub.

No one was injured and the driver of the car was seen leaving the scene. 

A 24-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop after a road accident and being the driver of a vehicle involved in a road accident and failing to report that accident. 

He remains in custody for questioning.
