Man, 83, charged after motorbike rider dies in Stoke-on-Trent crash

An 83-year-old man has been charged after a motorbike rider died in a crash in Stoke-on-Trent last year.
Peter Wood, 83, of Longton, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
It comes after Staffordshire Police was called to Belgrave Road, Dresden on Monday 29 December following a crash between a grey SYM Jet motorbike and a silver Ford Ecosport.
Michael Bibby, 41, who was riding the motorbike, died at the scene.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called to Belgrave Road, Dresden, shortly before 12.30pm on Monday 29 December 2025 following a collision between a grey SYM Jet motorbike and a silver Ford Ecosport.
"The rider of the motorbike, 41-year-old Michael Bibby, of Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent, sadly died at the scene.
"His family continue to be supported by specialist officers."
Mr Wood is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 9 July.
