Universal Fitness, based in Fenton, is a specialist fitness facility that is dedicated to fostering health and wellness in the community.

Their recent adventure saw them raise an impressive £17,500 for The Wendy Jones Trust, highlighting the gym's commitment to supporting families and children in Stoke-on-Trent who are less fortunate.

Callum Eckersley, founder at Universal Fitness, said: "We are incredibly proud of our members and the local community for their generous contributions.

"Our goal has always been to uplift and support our community, not just through physical fitness but also by fostering a spirit of generosity and care. The Wendy Jones Trust does remarkable work, and we are honoured to support its mission.

"This cause holds special significance for us as Wendy Jones, who tragically passed away from pancreatic cancer, was the beloved sister of one of our long-term members."

Universal Fitness members and staff embarked on several ambitious fundraising activities to achieve this incredible milestone. Among these activities was a challenging climb of Snowdon, which they started at 2am, with some participants remarkably wearing Crocs.

Some participants even climbed Snowdon in Crocs (Universal Fitness).

Additionally, they completed a gruelling 24-hour bikeathon, demonstrating immense stamina and perseverance as they cycled non-stop for an entire day. Their dedication and hard work also earned them a place in the Guinness World Records by skiing 100,000 metres in 6 hours and 29 minutes, highlighting their extraordinary commitment to this cause.

Simon Harrison, a representative of the Wendy Jones Trust, said: "We are deeply grateful to Universal Fitness and everyone who contributed to this incredible donation.

"This support enables us to continue making a positive impact in the lives of many children and their families. Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community."

The funds raised will enable the Wendy Jones Trust to continue its essential work, ensuring that more children and families in Stoke-on-Trent receive the support they need. By providing items such as school uniforms, sports gear, and birthday presents, the Trust helps to create a sense of normalcy and joy for children facing challenging circumstances.

Universal Fitness invites the community to celebrate this achievement and continue to support local charitable efforts. For more information about Universal Fitness and its ongoing initiatives, please visit the website.
