LIVE: Traffic stopped on M6 near Stoke-on-Trent due to vehicle fire

Traffic is currently stopped on the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent due to a vehicle fire - emergency services are in attendance.

Two lanes are closed between J13 (Stafford South) and J14 (Stafford North) and National Highways is warning motorists of 70 minute delays coming towards the city.

Staffs RTC say: "Officers are currently dealing with a vehicle fire on the M6 between J13 and J14 near Stafford.

"We currently have a full closure on this section of the M6. Please find alternative routes where possible."

UPDATE: All lanes of the M6 have now reopened although traffic remains heavy.
