A man has been taken to hospital with 'potentially serious injuries' following a collision on the M6 in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday.

Traffic was stopped between J15 and J16 yesterday afternoon and there were around four miles of congestion.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a patient who had fallen from their motorbike on the southbound carriage of the M6, between junctions 16 and 15, at 2.43pm.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital by land ambulance."
