Man taken to hospital with 'potentially serious injuries' following collision on A500 in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been taken to hospital following a collision on the A500 in Stoke-on-Trent this morning.

Police, paramedics, fire crews and the air ambulance all attended the scene on the A500 northbound this morning.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service told Nub News: "An ambulance, paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered two cars had been involved in a collision.

"The driver of one of the cars, a man, was cut free from his vehicle with the assistance of fire colleagues before being assessed by ambulance staff.

"He was treated for potentially serious injuries and taken via land ambulance to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further checks."

The air ambulance has landed on a nearby field (Nub News).

Stoke Nub News has approached Staffordshire Police for a statement.
