An "impressive" collection of classic and retro vehicles is heading to Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre next month.

Castle Classics is set to return for the fifth time across Ironmarket and High Street on Saturday 24 October from 10am to 3pm.

Up to 100 vehicles are expected to take part in the event, delivered by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID in partnership with The Red Haired Stokie and 6 Towns Radio.

Charl Pearce, Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Manager, said: "Castle Classics brings an impressive and varied display of vehicles into Newcastle.

"It attracts everyone from dedicated collectors and motoring enthusiasts to families enjoying a day out, while giving visitors the opportunity to explore our shops, cafes and independent businesses.

"We're looking forward to welcoming back familiar faces alongside new exhibitors and bringing everyone together for a brilliant event to close out the car show season."

More than a century of automotive history will be on display at the free, family friendly event, with models dating from early the 1900s all the way to the 1990s and early 2000s.

The vehicles will be judged across five categories - Best in Show, Show & Shine, Most Unique, Best Classic and Best Retro - with awards presented by 6 Towns Radio on the Ironmarket at 2:30pm.

All registered exhibitors will automatically be entered into the competition.

Jenna Goodwin, The Red Haired Stokie, said: "It's brilliant to be involved with Castle Classics again. I always enjoy chatting to the owners and discovering the stories and history behind their vehicles.

"There are some incredibly unique and beautifully maintained cars on display, making it a great day out for car fans and anyone who appreciates a classic."

The event was also created to attract visitors to Newcastle-under-Lyme and encourage them to explore the town centre's shops, hospitality venues and independent businesses alongside the vehicle displays.

Tickets to exhibit at the event can be purchased online here.
