Staffordshire Fire and Rescue spent two days extinguishing an accidental waste fire at a business site in Stoke-on-Trent.

Investigators were called in after the fire service spent two days extinguishing the fire on Chemical Lane near the Longbridge Hayes Industrial Estate last week.

Fire crews were first called out to the blaze on Tuesday 3 June at 11:45pm and a small section of Chemical Lane was closed by Staffordshire Police and nobody was reported injured.

Now fire service investigators have deemed the fire to have started accidentally.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to a business premises on Chemical Lane, Longport, at around 11.45pm on Tuesday 3 June.

"Over two days, a total of 28 appliances attended the scene and our aerial ladder platform was used to extinguish the blaze.

"Nobody was reported injured.
