Fresh plans for a new flat inside a pub in Stoke-on-Trent have been submitted to the local council after a previous application was rejected.

George & Dragon, on Heathcote Road in Longton, is used as a pub on the ground floor and as flats on the first floor.

Bosworth Properties Limited applied for permission in August 2023 to transform kitchen and storage space on the ground floor into a one-bedroom flat but the plans were rejected on the basis that the unit would be "a poor and unacceptable living environment".

Plans to convert the kitchen into a residential flat were rejected by the council last year (Nub News).

Now, the applicant is again seeking permission from the council to transform the redundant space on the ground floor into a one-bedroom flat.

The new residential unit would be next to the men's toilets in the pub and contain a kitchen, bedroom, ensuite and living space.

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
