Five murder suspects released on bail

Five people arrested following the death of a man in Stoke-on-Trent were released on conditional bail on Friday (28 November).

Staffordshire Police was called to a home on Park Avenue, Werrington, just after 9pm on Wednesday (26 November).

A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Two 31-year-old men, a 29-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

They have all now been released on conditional bail while Staffordshire Police enquiries continue.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to police contact.
