Five more people charged following violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent

Five more people have been charged following the violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August.

Andrew Townley, 45, of Hanley, and James Fernandes, 29, of Shelton, have both been charged with violent disorder and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

Deana Evans, 32, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been charged with violent disorder and common assault of an emergency worker.

Ashley Morris, 31, and Ciaran Lockett, 34, both of Newcastle-under-Lyme, have been charged with violent disorder.

Staffordshire Police have now arrested 60 people and charged a total of 23 as part of an investigation into the disorder in Stoke-on-Trent on 3 August and Tamworth on 4 August.

Ashley Morris, 31, will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Nub News).

Morris is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Tuesday 27 August).

Lockett and Evans have been remanded in custody ahead of their next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 30 August. 

Fernandes has been remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 6 September.

Townley has been remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 10 September.
