Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID has announced its very first 'ArtJam' art festival in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, is set to take place on Saturday 27 July.

The ArtJam will feature artists from Staffordshire and beyond and work to transform the City Centre.

Graphic Designer and Muralist, Rob Fenton, is dedicated to contributing to the regeneration of social spaces across the city, having recently completed projects for Alton Towers and a landmark rural for Belstaff in Longton.

He said: "It's great that we are aligning ourselves with so many other UK cities that are actively nurturing artists and new public artworks across our shared social spaces. I'm excited to play a small part in injecting more colour into the City Centre of Stoke-on-Trent!"

The festival will aim to 'inject more colour' into Stoke-on-Trent City Centre (SOT BID).

The BID have been granted permission from Stoke-on-Trent City Council to utilise fencing adjacent to Hanley Bus Station, originally intended to Corden the Etruscan Square development.

As well as many works of art, visitors will also be able to enjoy feature DJs, children's art activities and the correlating launch of a City Centre Artwork Trail.

The map is set to highlight pre-existing artwork in Hanley, including the impressive Captain John Smith mural on Hope Street, along with 20 new 'ArtBoxes'.

By utilising previously unloved bins and electric boxes in the public realm, The BID and Rob Fenton have collaborated with local organisations, groups and individual artists to create impactful and meaningful pops of art in these small but mighty instalments.

The trail map will be available to download here from Saturday 27 July, and limited print copies at the ArtJam launch on Saturday 27 July from 10am-4pm.
