Firefighters tackle blaze in 'derelict' Stoke-on-Trent building

Firefighters extinguished a fire inside a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday.

The fire, which was in Shelton, was deemed to have been caused accidentally.

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 3.40am yesterday (Thursday 9 April) to Revanth Place, Shelton, following reports of smoke coming from the area.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Three appliances attended the scene and extinguished a small fire on the ground floor.

"Nobody was reported injured.

"The fire was deemed to have been caused accidentally, and crews left the scene at 5.10am."
