Firefighters remain at scene of house fire in Stoke-on-Trent

Firefighters remained at the scene of a house fire in Abbey Hulton overnight after they were called out yesterday (19 March).
Six crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue were called to Birchfield Road and Greasley Road at 3:55pm yesterday to deal with a fire in the roof space which had affected two properties.
The fire appears to have been extinguished and there is no longer smoke coming from the properties, revealing the extent of the damage.
The cordon now includes the immediate area around the scene of the fire including the neighbouring four semi-detached homes on the street.
One fire engine as well as the Welfare Support Unit from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue were in attendance this morning and it's thought no one has been injured.
Yesterday evening, a spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "Six crews are currently dealing with a fire in the roof space affecting two homes on Greasley Road in Abbey Hulton, Stoke-on-Trent.
"We were called at 3.55pm this afternoon (Wednesday 19 March) and have a number of firefighters using main jets, hose reel jets and breathing apparatus at the scene.
"Updates will be provided in due course."
