The fire service and police were called out on Monday (23 June) after the roof of a house collapsed in Stoke-on-Trent.

Furlong Road, in Tunstall, was closed for much of yesterday evening from around 6pm while fire crews worked to make the area safe after the roof of a terraced house collapsed.

Staffordshire Police said nobody has been reported injured. The road has since reopened and temporary fencing is now surrounding the front of the property.

The emergency services have handed the incident over to Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to Furlong Road, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, at 6.10pm yesterday (Monday 23 June) following reports of a building in a dangerous condition.

"One appliance and our aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene and worked to make the area safe.

"The incident was left with Stoke-on-Trent City Council."
