Fire crews tackle blaze at business unit in Stoke-on-Trent

Fire crews spent nearly eight hours on a Stoke-on-Trent street yesterday after a business unit went up in flames.
Smoke was seen billowing from a unit on the Alexander Trading Park off Castlefield Street, in Shelton, on Thursday morning (21 August). Three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were seen on the street.
The alarm was first raised at around 7:30am yesterday and the gas and electric supply to the units was isolated "as a precaution".
The fire service has since confirmed the blaze was caused accidentally and no one has been reported injured.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters have tackled an accidental fire at industrial units in Stoke-on-Trent.
"Crews were called to Alexander Trading Park, on Castlefield Street, Shelton, just before 7.30am yesterday (Thursday 21 August).
"Hose reel jets and breathing apparatus were used to tackle the fire.
"The electric and gas supply to the buildings was also isolated as a precaution.
"No-one was reported injured.
"We left the scene at around 3.20pm."
