Fire crews extinguish 'deliberate' fire at derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent

Firefighters have extinguished a fire at a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent today (18 March).

Crews from Sandyford and Hanley went to Newport Lane, Middleport, just before 10.30am this morning.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire before 11am and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear excess smoke from the building. 

Fire investigators have deemed the fire to be deliberate (Google).

"No one was injured. 

"Fire investigators later deemed the cause of the fire to be deliberate."
