Motorists are being warned over illegal parking in a Stoke-on-Trent town after cameras are set to be installed to combat the growing problem.
Tunstall High Street - despite being double yellow lined - has cars parked right the way down.
The extra cameras are to be installed along the High Street on top of the already existing cameras. The scheme is set to be paid for from city council funds from the cancellation of HS2.
The cancellation funds are also paying for an expansion of bus services, including night time services. Real time information boards are also going to be installed so passengers are not left waiting for a bus which will never arrive.
Speaking at Sandyford and Goldenhill residents Stoke-on-Trent Cabinet Member for Housing, Regeneration and Planning Chris Robinson said: "Tunstall is having three extra cameras in the High Street and this is to catch motorists that are parking illegally."
In February it was announced that the city will benefit from £134 million in funding from cancelling HS2, however it will not be received until after the general election, which is expected later in the year.
At the same meeting, Councillor Robinson confirmed to residents that the number 3 and 3a buses will be more frequent and start earlier in the morning and later at night. The route runs from Hanley to Crewe via Burslem, Tunstall and Kidsgrove.
Councillor Robinson said: "They'll be more frequent, they will be later at night and they will be starting earlier in the morning for these sites that have got workers starting earlier. We've hired some bus inspectors and are going to put them back on the buses and that will be at the night time service.
"So people, mums with children, people coming from work will feel safer on the buses and also to stop anti-social behaviour because it is a problem."
