Entries for Stoke-on-Trent's iconic Potters 'Arf Marathon are now open.

The traditional 13.1 mile race will take place around the city on Sunday 29 September.

There is also the option to walk or team up with friends or family for a relay race.

Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "The Potters 'Arf marathon is something I know the people of Stoke-on-Trent look forward to every year, it is one of the most unique, community-spirited races in the UK.

"The event is aimed at people of all abilities and I'd encourage people to register and start training for now."

Last year's race took place in June and saw over 1,700 runners take part (Nub News).

A smaller 1km race will also take place in the city centre for junior runners aged 5-11.

The half marathon costs £34.95 to enter and a 2024 Potters 'Arf Marathon t-shirt is available at an additional cost.

Runners, walkers and juniors can register for the September race here.
