A local charity which works to end furniture poverty has relocated their shop to the Potteries Centre in Hanley.

Emmaus North Staffs has returned to the Potteries Centre where a large furniture shop will be managed on the lower floor.

The charity was based in the shopping centre before moving to the former GO Outdoors in Hall Street, Hanley, in 2024.

John Webbe, Executive Lead at Emmaus North Staffs, said: "We wanted to provide a better environment for our customers and also our staff and the two shops at the Potteries Centre have allowed us to do that.

"Our main charity shop is on the lower floor is stocked with clothes, quality furniture items and new goods.

"The superstore provides a warm, dry and welcoming space for our local community to browse, shop, donate items and support our charity. We're very excited for this next chapter and would like to thank everyone who continues to give their ongoing support to Emmaus North Staffs."

John added: "As well as this we also have a larger furniture item store opposite, which will be home to white goods and other household items.

"The move has come at a good time for our charity as we have been introducing new services in the last 12 months.

"For instance our Home and Hope Project, which was supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, will continue in our community space in the main shop where we will be holding our sessions and other workshops."

The main charity shop is approximately 12,000sqft, whilst the separate furniture site is approximately 4,000sqft.

Both are open to the public six days a week.  Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
