Darts shop set to open within weeks in Stoke-on-Trent

A new darts shop is preparing to open next month in Stoke-on-Trent.
Midlands Darts is set to open a new branch on Festival Park with two pros set to meet eager darts players at the opening in July.
Darts fan, Carl Gallimore, opened his first store in Tamworth in November last year with a plan to open more branches across the region and now Midlands Darts is set to open in Stoke on 5 July.
The supply shop will stock products from the major darts manufacturers and the store features a try-before-you-buy board along with regular meet-and-greet events with players planned for customers.
Carl told Stoke Nub News: "We've got a couple of professional players coming down on the opening day and we're expecting it to be really busy.
"Opening more branches was always part of the plan since I opened the first store in Tamworth last year.
"I'd been driving an hour to the local darts shop and realised it wasn't that accessible so I decided to open one myself but now of course they are opening all over.

"I work closely alongside the ADC (Amateur Darts Circuit) Midlands and I found the location at Festival Park and went with it pretty quickly.
"We're at a darts event this weekend in Smallthorne, where we are hosting a pop-up shop and giving some prizes away, so while our shop is the main thing, we also work closely with the darts community."
At the current Tamworth branch, Carl says around half of his customers are under the age of 18 so the team are confident the store will also be a hit with young people who have recently taken up the sport and long-time players alike.
Carl added: "A lot of the darts shops are in working men's clubs or pubs but our shop is very much a family-friendly environment
"Everyone knows that Luke Littler was a big part of the darts boom and real darts fans will never deny that for a second.
"Whether people like him or love him, he has brought eyes to the sport. I'm a big a big Luke Littler fan and I think what he's done for the sport is great and even the players know he's raised the profile of the sport.
"And that's the big thing because it was always known as a pub's thing or a working men's club thing but now it's different, everyone is into it.
"We just hope we can deal with the demand."
