Closure order issued for Stoke-on-Trent property after residents raised anti-social behavior concerns

A three-month closure order has been issued for a property in Stoke-on-Trent after local residents reported anti-social behaviour.
Staffordshire Police said officers worked alongside Stoke-on-Trent City Council's Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) team to speak to communities in Burslem, who reported "persistent anti-social behaviour" at a property on Lawton Street.
On Friday (14 August), a three-month closure order was secured on the property in court.
This means no one can enter the address for the next three months, and anyone who enters without permission from Staffordshire Police or the North Staffordshire Justice Centre could be arrested.
Problem-solving lead, PC Paul Seddon, of the Stoke-on-Trent north local policing team, said: "We do not underestimate the impact that anti-social behaviour has on local residents and communities.
"I would like to thank local residents for reporting their concerns to us and helping us gather evidence which has led to this closure order being secured."
Councillor Duncan Walker, cabinet member for safe and resilient communities and housing at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "This closure order sends a clear message that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities.
"Working alongside Staffordshire Police, our Anti-Social Behaviour Team helped gather evidence and support residents affected by the issues at this property.
"We will continue to work with our partners to take action against those who cause nuisance and disorder and help keep our neighbourhoods safe."
