Firefighters tackled a "deliberate" fire at a derelict building in a Stoke-on-Trent town.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 7.40pm yesterday (Tuesday 18 August) to High Street in Tunstall following reports of smoke coming from a building.

Three appliances and an aerial ladder platform (ALP) attended the scene.

Hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire and nobody was reported injured.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Thankfully, nobody was reported injured.

"The cause of the fire was deemed to be deliberate and the incident has been left with colleagues from Staffordshire Police."
