Ceramicist crowned winner of pottery competition show filmed in Stoke
The Great Pottery Throw Down crowned jeweller and ceramicist, Lois Gunn, as its winner in last night's episode.
The Channel 4 competition show, filmed at Gladstone Pottery Museum, Longton, began on Sunday 8 December and saw 12 contestants battle it out to become Britain's best potter.
36-year-old Lois was announced as the season six winner by host Siobhán McSweeney.
Lois said: "I think I'm in a lot of shock. This whole thing is beautiful, to be part of it and then to be holding this at the end.
"I think the future looks pretty exciting. I'm definitely going to have more confidence in new things that I try and I'm just really looking forward to sharing loads of pottery chat with a lot of people".
Fans took to Twitter to congratulate Lois and praise the show.
One wrote: "The #PotteryThrowdown is all that's good about human nature in one great big hug - creativity, collaboration, comradeship, celebration, courage, vulnerability, love. Thank you to all involved."
Another said: "What a great final! Such a lovely feel-good show, quietly affirming that in this noisy world that feels like it's going a bit mad right now, there are good people quietly getting on with making beautiful things. Love the Great #PotteryThrowdown."
The Great Pottery Throwdown is available on All4.
