Cannabis grow found in disused council building in Stoke-on-Trent

Police have discovered the remnants of a cannabis grow inside a disused council building formerly used as a housing office in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers from Staffordshire Police made the discovery in Burslem on the corner of Keates Street and Brick House Street this morning (13 May) when they noticed the building was not secured, but no plants were found. 

This morning, officers and forensics were outside the disused Burslem Local Centre and the investigation has now turned to finding out who is responsible for setting up the grow.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for information after the remnants of a cannabis grow were found inside a disused building in Stoke-on-Trent.

"At around 7.25am today (Tuesday 13 May) officers patrolling the Burslem area came across an insecure building near Moorland Road.

"Officers went inside and found evidence of a cannabis grow previously being there.

"No plants were found but we're investigating to find out who was responsible.
