Candidates confirmed for Meir North by-election

A by-election will take place in Stoke-on-Trent on 2 May (Association of Electoral Administrators).
A by-election will take place in Stoke-on-Trent on 2 May (Association of Electoral Administrators).

The full list of candidates standing in the Meir North by-election has been released by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

The election, which is due to take place on Thursday 2 May, was confirmed after Cllr Desiree Elliott resigned last month.

The candidates are:

  • Khawar Ali (Conservative)
  • Lauren Davison (Labour)
  • Michelle Swift (Independent)

Meir North residents who have not registered to vote will need to do so by Tuesday 16 April (LDRS).

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on 2 May 2024.
