A busy Stoke-on-Trent road will finally reopen this evening after nearly eight weeks of roadworks.

Weston Coyney Road, Weston Coyney, has been partially closed since 20 March and traffic has been controlled with three-way lights since the closure.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has been carrying out drainage and resurfacing work on the busy stretch of road which takes motorists into Fenton and Longton.

Work on Weston Coyney Road began on 20 March (Nub News).

The road will reopen at 5pm today (17 May).

No more roadworks are planned for Weston Coyney Road at this time, although Meir Hay Road is currently closed for resurfacing work and will reopen on Friday (19 May).
