A busy road in Stoke-on-Trent is set to be hit with three separate sets of temporary traffic lights this month.

Two-way signals were installed on Weston Road (just before Brookwood Drive) between 9 and 12 January and the footway was also closed.

This was to allow National Grid to install a "new service connection".

On 15 and 16 January, two-way signals will be installed near the junction with Weston Coyney Road whilst the city council carries out bus stop upgrades.

Cllr Amjid Wazir, cabinet member for city pride, enforcement and sustainability said: "We are undertaking works on Weston Road to install bus access kerbs.

"The route will be under a 4-way light arrangement and we will work hard to mitigate the effect on traffic at peak times.

"We thank residents for their patience at this time."

And between 19 and 23 January, multi-way signals will be placed near Stanton Road to allow Virgin Media to carry out "utility asset works". The footway will also be closed whilst this work takes place.
