A man has been jailed following the discovery of more than 100 cannabis plants at a property in Stoke-on-Trent.

Liridon Gjana, 29, from the Burslem area, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday (30 May) to 12 months behind bars after pleading guilty to producing class B drugs at an earlier hearing.

Liridon Gjana, 29, pled guilty to producing class B drugs (Staffordshire Police).

The court heard how officers were called to a property off Station Street, Burslem, just before 3am on 24 April 2023 following reports of suspicious activity.

On arrival, officers found more than 90 large cannabis plants and 20 small plants, which were seized as were two mobile phones.

Shortly after, a man was located and detained.
