Burger King has amended its plans for a new drive-thru restaurant in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.

Despite plans for the new eatery being approved in November 2023, the applicant is now seeking permission to add an extra 34 parking spaces on the site.

The 5,500 square meter application site, on Staffs Industrial Estate in Fenton, has been vacant since the car park closed in 2016.

When the plans were approved, the council said: "Firstly, the development would bring investment into the area alongside employment opportunities (economic).

"Second, it would provide a social hub and environment for communities to use (social); and thirdly it would improve the degrading state of the site which has been subject to adverse misuse by locals.

Staffs Fitness Ltd is seeking permssion to add another 34 parking spaces on the site (Nub News).

"The development is therefore considered on balance to integrate successfully into the prevailing urban context when seen from the public realm and be visually appropriate for its intended use.

"This has been the result of an improved and significantly reduced design from that previously refused."

This week, Burger King has amended the parking details submitted as part of the application.

The popular eatery is proposing an extra 11 car parking spaces, one large vehicle space, two disabled spaces and 20 cycle spaces.
