A brand-new chip shop is set to open on a busy Stoke-on-Trent road this week.

Mother Hubbard's signage has been on 411-415 Victoria Road, Fenton, for some time but an opening date has only now been confirmed.

The new eatery will open on Saturday 12 October and as a special opening offer, Mother Hubbard's is offering 50% off all orders.

The fish and chip shop will offer a traditional menu including classics, sandwiches, children's meals and a huge range of sides.

The first Mother Hubbard's fish and chip shop opened in 1972 in Bradford - back when a portion of fish and chips cost just 45p.

The popular brand has been serving fish and chips for over 50 years (Nub News).

Since then, the popular brand has opened branches across the UK, including in Huddersfield, Blackburn and Leicester.

The website says: "At Mother Hubbard's our ethos remains to deliver our valued and respected customers with the best and famous original recipe fish and chips.

"Continuing the Mother Hubbards original recipe today allows us to keep in touch with our tradition and satisfy our customers with the mouth-watering fish and chips, which has won their hearts."

Stoke Nub News has approached Mother Hubbard's for comment.
