Body found in Stoke-on-Trent park in the search for missing woman

Staffordshire Police has confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing 46-year-old Lisa from Stoke-on-Trent.

Lisa was reported missing on 3 January.

A body was discovered in Central Forest Park, Hanley on Saturday 17 January.

Staffordshire Police believe the woman to be missing Lisa.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Sadly, a body was discovered on Saturday (17 January) afternoon in Central Forest Park, Hanley.

"Formal identification will take place in due course, though at this time, we believe the woman to be missing Lisa.

"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time."

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A file will be prepared for HM Coroner and inquiries are continuing.

Staffordshire Police have urged anyone with relevant information, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 280 of 17 January, or to anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
