All train lines were closed at Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station this morning as emergency services attended an 'incident'.

The lines have now reopened (as of 9.15am) but as service recovers, trains may be still cancelled, severely delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised.

Northern is advising passengers that ticket restrictions have been lifted during the disruption and road transport has been provided between Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield in both directions calling at Congleton, Kidsgrove and Longport.

A full sized coach will depart Stoke-on-Trent at 9am, calling at all stations to Macclesfield.
